Excerpts from a conversation between me and my wife...
{insert some stuff about my parents coming to the coast to visit next month, and me groaning at some suggestion she made... I forget what it was...}
C: you Want our kids to humor us someday don't you?
D: No. I want them to fear, respect, and obey me. {I hold out my fist and shake it, menacingly}
C: In those pants???
D: {I look down at my Nintendo pajama pants}. yes, tho they probably won't look nearly so good that many years down the road...

Amused at myself and my life
It's been a while since I've really posted much...
The only pieces of news I can think of are that I've recently started home-making pasta and tortillas and both have been turning out good.
The other thing is a bit of geek-philosophizing... wife and I recently bough a cheap copy of Lego star wars II... and while on the "blow up the death star level" I caught myself wondering "how many times have I blown up the death star?"
I mean really, Luke blowing up the death star is probably the most iconic moment in all of the star wars movies (probably ranks pretty highly in all movies anywhere, too) so of course a lot of star wars games try to incorporate that. There are a lot of games set a log time ago in a galaxy far far away, and in most of them you blow up the death star...
Games where I have blown up the death star...
X-wing
Rouge Squadron
Rouge Leader
Lego Star Wars
A variety of games simply titled "star wars" (for the NES and SNES for example)
Rebel Assault
Not as long of a list as I feared, but still... I've blown up the ultimate weapon of fear and destruction quite a few times, I guess...

I've been meaning to write a post about the wii Fit we got for x-mas... it's kinda fun... good for keeping track of your weight... and has introduced me to such factoids as weighing myslef before and after peeing gives a difference of 0.4 LBS...
In other news it's fun being 12 on the inside... I cant' wait to have kids so they can act older than me.

As Dave from Snafu said... I'll probably still watch it...
Watching it I get a feeling like I'm watching the Zelda trailer IGN did for april fools... especially some of the special effects and Piccolo's makeup. The only reason I take this as real is because Cow Yung Fat (is that how you spell it?) is in it, and this one has a movie studio logo on it...

Holiday decorations are up in the homestead... peace on earth good-will towards men (and women)...
I have only once participated in BLack Friday sales... and i just have to ask... is it worth it... really???
So there's a little bit of News....
OBAMA WON BABY!!!!!!
But before I get to my deeper thought about this i have to share something I stole from
spunkymishi

She has a bunch of these posted... go take a look.
Deeper thoughts... during the campaigns there were many slogans and ads and such, the one that stuck with me was on an Obama pin my wife got. It simply read "Got Hope?" with a small Obama symbol on it. I think I do have hope. My hope isn't really that all the problems made in the last four years can be solved in the next four, in fact i don't really thin they can be solved in the next 8, but my hope is we can get on the right path.
